Over the next few days I will be uploading images of the collection so those from afar can have a peek. I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I did painting them.
‘A Brush With Nature’
Nature, our greatest teacher…
To paint is to explore the beauty and order of nature, and to care for the soul
My goal is to inspire those who see my work, to look more carefully at the world around them, and to explore its variety of forms and patterns it presents and to consider how these resonate with our cultures and ways of living.
Increasingly life demands that we give our best attention to virtual worlds, therefore much of each day can go by without realising what nature is presenting to us to enjoy.
My subject matter seeks to bring some little reminder of the outside in, whether it is seasonal flowers, strands of wheat, produce from our local farmer’s markets, or times of day or year in our river land and billabong country, or beyond.
I use traditional, high quality archival materials, and constantly explore painting methods both direct and indirect that help me to achieve my childhood desire to be able to paint an apple that looks like an apple that one would want to linger over, caress, smell and eat.
