Parmesan Cheese

oil on fine linen on board, 10 x 20 inches
Summer is bounty time with a flux of beautiful fresh, sweet, crisp grapes to offset the deep richness of slow matured parmesan cheese and a peppery shiraz wine. Such pleasures are best experienced during a slow, late evening sunset with a rural prospect and good company.
From a painter's point of view this requires a quick study due to the heat and dry air that wilts anything substantial within 3 hours and anything ephemeral within 15 minutes. Makes the choice of what to block in somewhat contravene the preferred norms and order of the traditional still life processes I have been studying. SOLD
